Off to see the Vampires!!! Mark Unseen   Nov 12 14:24 UTC 1994

Ok, gerundy is very much wanting to go to see Interview With The Vampire.
Gerundy is not wanting to go alone, however, and while he was pondering
the concept a most awesome thought came to him. Perhaps he could convince
some inbetweeners to get together and go to see it as a group. It would
be a peachy keen thing to do, and if tom cruise really blew the role we could
all boo him together. :)
i don't have any idea what people's schedules look like, so i thought i'd
leave this item open for people to enter some suggestions as to when this
might take place. I'd imagine it should take place in Ann Arbor, although
when and at what theatre is open for discussion. Hopefully we could do
this soon, and perhaps it might be an ok thing to do on a sunday
afternon/evening as part of a sorta after tweening. The reason I suggest
a sunday is because sunday is the only day of the week i know for sure I
won't be working on. if anyone would need a ride, i have room available
for three. let us discuss, and i will keep track of tentative ideas.

response 2 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 13 02:09 UTC 1994

I can do this tomorrow, but perhaps for others we should plan on something in
advance. Say maybe at least a week from now. The only thing is, judging by the
popular response to the movie I imagine most people will see it this week. If
anyone wants to go tomorrow I can go though.

Well, I'll do my best to see if I can force, er... TALk, yeah TALk some
of the walkers into doing this today.

Well, I can't go on the walk... I have a paper due tomorrow, so if I do
one (walk or movie) I can't do the other. And I REALLY want to see the movie,
but I suppose I can wait till next week. When I WILL be at the walk, and
most likely I will be bringing two people with me.
Call me if people are going to the movie today...

Well, I sorta wanted to go today, because I CAN'T wait. It does seem that I
will have to, but I'm thinking that maybe I will just go tonight anyhow. Then
I can watch everyone else's reaction to the movie, knowing what will be coming.

Well, I did go.
I won't tell you anything, because this movie is easily my favourite ever.
I will tell you it kinda messed with my mind a bit at parts, but that's all I'm
going to really say. It really wasn't what I expected... meaning it went beyond
expectations. And, hopefully you won't think this is giving anything away,
but...

It was faithful enough to the book for me
Tom Cruise pulled the part off

Spoil it? I doubt it.
Hopefully you'll like it too.

I still want to see if some people will see this and decide to go next Sunday.
I would definitely take any opportunity to see it again.
I'm still not sure it was good that I went alone.

So next Sunday is definite, more or less, and hopefully I can drag some others
out too.

I did see it. It was great beyond anything I had hoped.
Tom Cruse definately pulled it off. I would see it again, but I'm
seeing it with a friend of mine Friday for his B-day.
Okay Meg, I see it three times...She likes to type over
my shoulder.

response 14 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 15 23:05 UTC 1994

I really COULD say something here, but I'm not gonna.

Ok, this is the deal:

Sunday the 20th those who want to can go to the unofficial aftertweening
to see the acclaimed "Interview With The Vampire".
I have room for three people if a ride is a problem. Possibly four.

response 15 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 01:46 UTC 1994

Well, we need to come up with a time, like I said, a matinee would be
for the best!

gerund
response 16 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 10:18 UTC 1994

In terms of an aftertweening, the movie would have to most likely begin after
three. The walk lasts usually at LEAST an hour, and you'd have to count
travel time to the theatre. Also, I thought rated R movies weren't usually
shown until evening. I'm probably being an old prude though. I'm sure it's
showing. :)

response 17 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 13:26 UTC 1994

response 18 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 16:26 UTC 1994

I just had to put my two cents in .......
I hope you like the movie ..maybe I'll get to see it ver the Hoildays... in

response 19 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 20:30 UTC 1994

Could I suggest maybe doing it sometime after four, like maybe having the
aftertweening include eating first to kill time, or something. Then I
could go to it.

response 20 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 16 23:38 UTC 1994

This is perfectly fine with Gerund.

Funny people... go ahead and make fun of a Gerund who didn't think to be
specific enough for your tastes.
eeyore
response 21 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 17 13:08 UTC 1994

well, how about a better idea...why not see what times it's showing, and
then plan around that?
anne
response 22 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 17 18:20 UTC 1994

I can't really afford an evening show, and matinees are usually cheaper!
Can't we cut the walk short? If the walk starts at 1:30, we finish at
2:30, we can still make it to a 3:00pm show! We can eat AFTER the movie,
if anyone is hungry. Besides I can't take too much time away from work,
I have a term paper due Tuesday...

Sorry to be a pain about this....

eeyore
response 23 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 17 18:25 UTC 1994

why not find out the tiems of the movies FIRST!!!!

and skip the walk this weekend?
gerund
response 24 of 119: Mark Unseen   Nov 17 19:03 UTC 1994

BLASPHEMY..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I suppose bobbina could handle it on her own for one week maybe. MAYBE.

Anne, honey, read the conference login file, huh? the walks start at 1 PM
not 1:30. <big grin>
