Did anyone see Julius Caesar on TNT.
It blew through history much too fast, and all it does is leave the common
man going, wow I like battle scenes with Roman Legions.
Clearly, if one desires a knowledge of history, one has to go read a book.
Fools!

I saw it and I agree. I had to ask my daughter (5 years latin study) to
fill in the missing relations, motives and actions. She knew a lot more
history of who everyone was. (Did anyone catch exactly what Caesar said to
Brutus after Brutus stabbed him too? I heard him say "...Brutus", but I
did not hear a "et tu?" or "you too?". This is so famour an utterance I
would have thought Caesar would have stood up to utter it.... 8^}.

"Et tu, Brute" ("'Brute' is the 'vocative' or 'calling form' of Brutus, used
when calling or addressing someone) was put into Caesar's mouth by
Shakespeare, and therefore can be legitimately left out in a version of Julius
Caesar's life that is not based on Shakespeare.
