Workout music Mark Unseen   Feb 28 05:36 UTC 2004

Ok...so I workout on the treadmill and stationary bike at the gym.

It's gets boring looking at the same wall for 45 minutes so I made
a compliation CD of my favorite workout songs that help motivate
me.

Most of them are from 80's soundtracks:

Flash Dance soundtrack-
        Maniac
        Flash Dance (what a feeling)
        Gloria

Footloose soundtrack-
        Footloose
        Holding out for a hero
        Im Free
        Never

Rocky IV soundtrack-
        Eye of the Tiger
        Burning Heart

Top Gun soundtrack-
        Danger Zone

Invinclible (Pat Benatar)
Love is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar)
Fame (Irene Cara)
The Look (Roxette)

anyways...does anyone else here have a motivational/workout mix CD?

If not, what do you listen to when working out (or when you used to
workout)?

I am currently listening to Puccini's Tosca. I'll probably back through it
until it is mostly familiar, and then choose another opera.

During the winter I'm usually working out on a stairclimber somewhere, these
days Vets Park. Anyway, my usual thing is to try to show up when there's
nobody else there so I can take control of the TV. ;)

Summers I bike a lot, and that's its own entertainment.

Each runs very close to 50 minutes, which is perfect for me on a
treadmill or spin bike.
For treadmill, I also like a series of tapes (haven't found them on cd)
that are titled "Run (or March) Cadence with <insert your favorite
military org here>"
I like "Run Cadence with the Airborne Rangers" for example. It's
exactly what you'd think - a bunch of different units running, complete
with call-and-response cadences and the sounds of many boots. Lots of
familiar songs make surprisingly cool cadences! My favorite is "Shout".

ha..I forgot about this item. Anyways now-a-days the gym I go to has
treadmills with a built-in TV. All I need to do is bring my earbud headphones
and i'm good to go.

When i'm out jogging, I have a tiny mp3 players, which is loaded with alot
of the same songs I listed in 2004 and a bunch of more recent stuff (Lady
Gaga, Ke$sha, etc..high tempo songs).
