macho
sleeping problem... Mark Unseen   Nov 5 10:04 UTC 1999

I am very much upset about my sleeping habits. My problem is -I sleep a lot. I
sleep in the class, in the buses and trains while travelling and in room of
course. This is inspite of my getting 7hrs regular sleep at night.

Has somebody any suyggestion for help?

Try getting 8 hours at night? Do you sleep soundly at night? Is it quiet,
is the bed level and sufficiently padded, is it a comfortable temperature?

Do you snore? The clinical term for this is obstructive sleep
apnea and it often means someone is so busy waking up to get air
that they don't get much restful sleep.

You might also want to get your thyroid levels checked...that was my major
problem when I started to fall asleep all the time. I also gained a lot of
weight, and got really dry skin.

Also, would you have a sore throat? You might have mono. I had a friend
who had it for two months before she knew what was wrong. She was
generally tired all the time, but kept her normal pace. When I had it,
it was pretty severe and I was doing good to lift the remote control. :)

You may not be getting restful, productive sleep. Maybe your schedule
is erratic? You know, staying up late on weekends and sleeping in the
next day? Sort of messes you up for the week. Try to get on a regular
schedule if possible.

If macho is grexing from India, he may have four roommates sharing the same
room and keeping him up. And/or a job that requires very late hours.
