Our newest member of grex is married to a veterinarian, who has experience
with all sorts of exotic animals. Anyone with questions about their pets or
any aspect of animal health, please post questions here. They have a pony
and a potbellied pig. The vet is allergic to birds. Is anyone on grex
allergic to their pets? Do their pets have any allergies?

There is also a "pets" conference. It might be useful to link this
item there. You can ask the pets fw, login mooncat, to do it.
As a child I was allergic to cats. The allergy persisted into my
early adult years and then went away. I've lived with cats in the
house for years now with no allergic reactions.

I am allergic to fleabites, and have to tuck my pants into my socks if I go
into a house with pets, and be careful not to sit anywhere upholstered. I
knew a dog with a fleabite allergy, it was miserable. I have been bitten by
fleas from cats, dogs, and mice (plugging a hole to the basement stopped the
bite problem).

I'm slightly allergic to the guinea pigs. I'm also allergic to cats, but
can get used to living with them..
