Network Transceiver Needed.
|
Nov 20 19:00 UTC 1992 |
Hi there, The Plex Project is attempting to network bewtween a few systems
here in Ann Arbor and we might be adding one of the Plexii to the internet
with it's own IP address. To do this I must get the TCP/IP running that came
with the machine, thats the easy part, to complete the testing of this hard-
software I need a network transceiver. If you have one (AUI to BNC) and are
willing to -LOAN- it to The Plex Project for testing, please mail me here on
M-Net or (root@plex-1) or call me voice 663-2247.
Once we get everything running smoothly, we intend to purchase a transceiver
for the project (either your loaner or off the net). Here is what we are work-
ing on;

Should have also asked what the characteristic impedance needed is?

For Ethernet, it's usually 50-ohm RG-58 (or RG-8 for thick Ethernet).
