Sun Hardware Mark Unseen   Jun 19 23:02 UTC 1998

I am looking at purchasing a complete (and working) Sun Workstation. I
am mostly looking in the USED arena. I know there has be some out
there. Something Sun4 and above.

So if anyone knows of any web pages, businesses, pawnshops, semi
trailers, etc. that sells old Sun Equipment, please let me know.

Does anyone know of any good documents on the net that show the relative
performace of various Sun (sparc) systems? My employer has several models
on our internal network, each with various amounts of RAM. I've been
running some fairly intensive simulations on an Ultra Sparc-10 with 512MB,
and want to see if we have any other systems that would perform better for
this task. Something as simple (and meaningless) as dhrystone performance
for varous Sparc systems would be fine. Unfortunately I don't have access
to a compiler (no cc or gcc), so I can't compile dhrystone.c myself.

Actually, you do.

Solaris is perfectly capable of running sunos binaries. Just make sure
you have a "/usr/4lib" on your target system and you should be all set.
