A Disturbing Decline
|
May 6 02:31 UTC 2003 |
Over the years I have noticed a disturbing decline in people's
enunciation. Nobody wants to speak clearly anymore. Yesterday's
"Would you please pass the potatoes" has become "Wolfyo pfliz pesso
puhuthu." It is hard enough to cope in today's frenetically paced
world without the extra burden of having to figure out all the time
what someone has just said to me.

re#0: Its not them, but you. In the dark ages of computing the fan
noise over time caused selective high frequency hearing loss. Consult
an audiologist and don't tell them anything about your profession. A
good one will be able to tell you and can set you up with a
multi-spectrum freqency equalizer (aka hearing-aid).
