Disabilities Mail Lists

Disabilities Mail Lists FYI
This item will be a listing of disabilities related subscriptions.
Buffalo Freenet (freenet.buffalo.edu) has an extensive disabilities
related menu, including connections to disabilities gophers, discussion
groups, reference material and much more.
(A word about mail lists: If you subscribe to a mail list from grex you
should remember to unsubscribe any time you won't be able to download or
delete the item from the incoming mailbox for more than 2 days. Grex is
currently experiencing some problems with the size of the incoming mail
area, which may be fixed in the future. Another consideration is the size
of the list. Because of the limited link on grex, incoming mail serves as
a comparatively sizable resource user. If you have another site to
receive regular largish mailings (such as a large list) that does not have
similar link restrictions, you should consider subscribing to long lists
from there)

Could there be any way I could "forward" all mail to my e-mail address of
Ray_Williams@GSVMS2.cc.GaSoU.Edu ? This is the location I access GREX so
To access the above from this local would be bypassing GREX and I like to
share!

I'm sure you can set things up any way you want. You can create a file
named .forward that will direct any mail sent to you here to any address
you put in the file, but I'm not sure this is what you want as a .forward
leaves no copy behind. Do you use pine or newpine as a mailer here on
grex? It gives you the option of forwarding any mail a piece at a time.
Better yet, you can "write out" a letter to a file of your choice. Then
you can use your editor to chop out parts you don't want to use, add
comments, and then when (say) entering a reply in conference you can read
that file into your reply. I'm not sure what you want to try or what you
already know how to do, but the things I'm describing are very easy to
learn. I'm mostly familiar with pine and Pico(as an editor) because these
are easy to learn. If you send mail to: help@cyberspace.org or ask in the
info conference you can get more specific how-to advice.
My caution about mail lists shouldn't discourage anyone from subscribing
to one from here at Grex. I felt I should put in the reminder because I
was advertising lists in this item.

I've created an account on the Buffalo Freenet system. It has a quite a
good selection of disability related resources. I'll be posting some of
the addresses and lists from there here from time to time. Here is a
brief description of what they offer:
(You can telnet there from Grex if you are a member of Grex: type
!telnet freenet.buffalo.edu
at any OK: prompt or ask for assistance.)
THE WNY DISABILITIES FORUM SIG
Welcome to the the WNY Disabilities Forum!
You can read about Our Mission or access much of our disability
related materials.
Here you can find information about the Americans with Disabilities
Act or select from a variety of Disability Related Texts . You can
obtain information about Assistive Technologies for Mac and PC users,
read information from the Social Security Administration or access
other disability related Gopher sites.
I have compiled a list of disability related Mail Lists and put
together a sampling of some current disability related Newsletters
Your Comments are welcomed.
