interesting. user consent, if required could be assumed through use of a
disclaimer warning that going to or accessing the site is proof of implicit
consent. this technique is already common with other things like sweepstakes
entries, etc.

Thanks for entering this, Valerie. I'll try to make it if I can.
Barry Bagels is not far from where I live.

if spam comes uup (regardless of the primary topic of the meeting)
may i suggest a first line which instructs how to get off, and a content
size limit of 250 characters after that single line.

I heard there were more people there than the space could accomodate.
Unfortunately, I wasn't there myself either.

John and I went. I'd estimate she had about 18 people there
and that a number of them were quite involved with the Internet
on the technical level. There was time for anyone who cared to
comment on an issue to do so. And I had the feeling Ms. Rivers
already knew quite a bit about the Internet and she isn't crazy
about charging in with legislation to fix problems that might
be best addressed by the private sector.
I left feeling quite pleased she is our congressperson.

I did too.
Among the internet experts present were William Simpson, author
of various internet protocols, and Peter Honeyman, who's made
heavy-duty contributions to email and data transfer technology,
distributed file systems, etc.

Re 15. Yup. Bill Simpson stopped by our house afterwards to ask why
I hadn't been there.
