DEAD AT 21>>>>>>D.O.A. Mark Unseen   Jun 20 17:36 UTC 1994

Last night, I veiwed what was some of the lamest television I have yet
to veiw. The show, "Dead at 21", promised to be a cyberpunk-based
notch on MTV's ever changing lineup. The story line is basically this.
A 20 year old guy has this microsoft implanted in his brain, as he is
some secret government project. And for some unknown reason, everyone
wants to kill him. In the first 3 minutes of the show, two people had already
shot at him...or had they...was it a dream.....or was it real.........
confused...so am I..and so is MTV.
The whole thing is shot on video, a complete and total mistake
for anything but the TGIF sitcoms. It seems really fake and
colorfull for a drama...it looks like a bad afterschool special.
Don't waste your time with this one. Go read some gibson with your
time, and kill your MTV.

MTV is suffering from acute future-itis... they are struggling with the
fervor to embrace on line existance. They want to be cutting edge...
but instead find themselves dying in "the real world." I say go
interactive, but stick with what you know.

I think MTV is stuck on its tragically hip self.
Dead at 21 had some promise, but, what the hell? They will use anything
just because it is presently trendy.

I wonder if William Gibson would have written aything had
he known the crap that they would clone...
But I digress...

Yeah, really. I want my (old) MTV! The only program I like there
anymore is " 'Alternative' Nation".

You're all right. The current lineup is aimed at everyone. Of course, no one is
satisfied. I'd like to see some videos! And not just the latest few played over
and over again, never to be seen after a few months.

RE: #5 I hope he would. The crap is DEFINATELY worth searching through
to get to the good stuff.

Cyberpunk literature has some of the best thought out ideas in it. Much
of the recent "crap" may seem to say otherwise, but if you search, it is
well worth it.

I agree fully with the plea of the video retun on MTV. Whatever happened to
those money making things for the artist, i dont know. Oh and should i know
who Gibson is?

I understand that they are trying to show more videos but why haven't they
found rant tv or binrev, if they had stuff like that it would rock, but then
again, i gotta remember that they aren't entirely technology based
