Grex will be at the October 13 JCC Sale Mark Unseen   Oct 6 18:47 UTC 1996

About three times a year, the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Ann
Arbor hosts a "Collossal Computer Sale." Grex has been attending for
a number of years, to spread Grex awareness and raise some money.

The next JCC sale is Sunday, October 13, at WCCC (type
"!more /u/ajax/jccmap" at the "Respond or Pass?" prompt for
directions).

Grex will have two tables, and will be handing out flyers, answering
questions, and selling donated computer stuff. Among the equipment for
sale will be a few XT, 286, and 386 PCs, in varying states of repair,
two VGA color monitors, a bunch of mono monitors, and a bunch of cards,
motherboards, and cables. We also have a small quantity of software and
books, as well as the excellent Grex manual (a bargain at $1!).

If you'd like to help transport stuff or staff the tables, respond
here, and we'll try to coordinate things. I know Grex has some things
stored at my place, at Jan's, at Steve Weiss', at Steve Andre's, and at
Greg Croneau's, and Misti has P.R. material (flyers and manuals). If
at least half these caches show up, we should be in good shape. :-)
Also, if you have anything you'd like to donate to the sale, respond
here, and we'll see if we can arrange a pick-up.

  Times: 7:30 open for setup
9:30 open to the public (displays should be set up by then)
          4:00 closes to the public
5:30 vendors should be out by then
54 responses total.

There's still a few things in the Grex box at DSC, you might want to get
in touch with Jeff Nanney.

I'd like to help staff tables, and carry, if someone can give me a ride. (My
car is dead)

I think I've got some stuff to donate. Will check & try to find someone to
dump it on before this weekend. (I won't be able to make the sale.)

How awful, Jan. You moved back from big Texas into a small cage...?

M-Net will also have tables at the show. Let's hope for fair weather
(not too good so people want to be outside, not so bad so that people
don't want to go out at all) and a good turnout!

Yeah, sure, you can drop off other stuff for the sale at my place.

Leeron, I've visited Jan's cage. It is in a musty basement, but
don't worry, it's not all that small - he can stand up in it and
everything!

Yay, scg's truck is a great asset for JCC sales :-). Meg, thanks
for the reminder, I'll call Jeff to see about Dominant Systems stuff.

The cage is designed to keep other people out, not to keep me in. Thus,
properly speaking, its the rest of you that are in my cage.

I can give rides home at the end of the show. But in the morning,
I'll be busy moving stuff, and my car might be filled up with Stuff.
Dan's address in his .plan is on Thaler, which is near the Westgate
shopping mall. Eskarina, what general part of town are you in? (I
liked your .plan by the way - the ending startled me for a sec :-).

I may be able to give one or the other of you a ride really early in the
morning, if you want to get up early to help carry things.

(In that case, Jan, it is a good thing that all of us here are friends and
needn't speak properly.)

I'll be at the show early to set-up, but need to return to the UofM campus
area for football practice at 12:30 and can offer rides back at that time.

Steve: That's fine with me. I'd like to help carry. About my address. I
moved, and I guess it didn't occure to change my plan. Shows how often I
move. :) So, now I'm right by Pioneer. (*right* by)
