mud cf? Mark Unseen   Dec 22 13:11 UTC 1994

someone entered a mud item in a conference somewhere, and it was
fairly active. what's anyone think about a conference to
discuss mudding, plug muds, ask tintin questions, etc, etc?

I think a "mud" conference would be fun, and it would see a good
amount of activity...

everyone let me know what you think.

...As long as a MUD doesn't try and sneak into Grex, fine! ;-)

I meant it more as a place to talk about muds, mudding,
and so forth. Not much excitement, but a good place to go when all your
favorite muds are down :)

I know, I know... Actually, its a fine thing to talk about. I might
even join, so I can make the attempt to figure out why so many people
love doing that.

mud = Multi-User Dungeon. It's an adventure game that can be played
over the internet by a number of people simultaneously.

Or it can be multi user domain to do more serious stuff like
creating virtual cities, real time conferencing, interactive art and
the like.

Right, my characterization was a little too narrow. I've not done
much mudding, but as I understand it, game participants can actually
modify characteristics of the space in which the game is played.
