JCC Coordinator Needed

Three times a year, the JCC holds a big computer swap. Grex generally
collects donations of old computer hardware and software, finds a bunch
of volunteers, and sells the donated stuff at the sale. The money from
the sale goes to pay for new Grex hardware, phone bills, etc.
I've coordinated several JCC sales in the past, and I'd really like to see
someone else take over this job. If you might like to volunteer but you
don't want this job forever, you can volunteer for coordinating only the
upcoming sale on Sunday March 26.
Generally Grex's JCC sale coordinator's job is to do the following:
* Enter an item well before the JCC sale asking for hardware and software
donations, and for volunteers to staff Grex's JCC table,
* Make sure the donated stuff has a way to be transported to the sale,
* Come up with a loose staffing schedule for the table,
* Optional (but useful) -- show up on the day of the sale, for at least
the first part of the sale if not the whole thing.
[Note that the application for a table at the current JCC sale has some
wording in it that some board members find objectionable. If you want to
discuss that, please keep that discussion in some other item (either the
Michigan Computer User item, or enter a new item to talk about it). The
board voted to go ahead and participate in this sale, so I'd like to see
this item stay focused on finding a coordinator for these sales.]
Want to get more involved in running Grex? This is a great chance to do
just that! Please volunteer by entering a response in this item saying
that you'd like to be the JCC sale coordinator.
If several people would like this job, co-coordination is a definite
possibility.

Well, just so I don't get your hopes up, I cannot co-ordinate this, due
to my locale.
I fully encourage others, who live closer to A2, to get involved!

If no one else steps up as the coordinator, I will. I have a
small hordeload in my basement anyway, that needs to get there...

Actually, sidhe, I see nothing in the job requirements that actually would
have to be done from AA... It'd just prob be a bit easier that way...

Sorry, lack of transport and having to work on Sundays

The reality of my job (warehouse software, with some occasional "suprise"
travel) tends to make things a bit tricky, but maybe on the weekend it would
be doable. What exactly would it involve? I drive a 2-seater (compact
pickup truck) so transportation is not my strong suit.

Lilmo, what makes it unlikely is that I'm not at all in theproximity,
and i drive
a 1979 5000 lbs 4x4! Gas milage is not good.

Type "only 0" to see the job description again.
The JCC sale coordinator doesn't need to transport anything. You would
want to organize volunteers who can drive stuff to the sale, but you
yourself don't have to do it.

Actually, things look a bit hectic in the next month with a project that
has to get done... I'm waffling on this, since I want to be a bit involved.

I don't want to volunteer to coordinate it, but I'd be glad to
help with transporting things. I still have the truck and the
two-wheeler.
