alright, here's the deal, a long time ago, back in '93 belive, i requested
a new rpg conference because rpg became "ds". then i tried it again, late last
year, and really i didn't get much responce (may have been my error). and now
imagine my dissapointment, when a new rp conference wish gets granted on the
first try!!!!! can somebody please explain to me *how* this is possible? (no
hard fealings toward certain friends of mine)

Theoretically, I think you suggest a conference, it gets discussed for a week
or so, and if you still want it, it gets created. Maybe you didn't follow up
with the "still want it" part? Theory sometimes differs from fact, too.

That's what happened. I remember moo's proposal. There were a few days
of discussion, at the end of which I asked him if he was still interested
and wanted to go ahead with it. He never responded.

That's probably what happened. The squaky wheel gets the grease..
You never know, moo.. If my sympathy proposal hadn't stirred up so much traffic
on that item, no one might have bothered with the new proposal for rpg, either.
Also, if you'll look, the proposer kept coming back and BEGGING for it.
Now, I don't advise groveling, but I do advise sticking to your guns, or
it will be assumed that is isn't that important anymore..

Groveling doesn't work, nor does shouting. I remember events the
way John remmers said it too. I believe we have it in a previous
coop archive, somewhere. But that isn't the point. If people want
a conference then usually it should be created. My only sticking
point is when several really similar conferences start up and each
has problems achieving critical mass, because things are spread out
too much.

Re 4: Ja, any conference that is requested, if the requester still wants
it a few days later, it's created. You don't have to be loud to get your
conference proposals listened to.
