Shopping For A Gas Grill Mark Unseen   May 25 13:50 UTC 1994

I'm starting to shop around for a gas barbecue grill. (My wife claims
that I've been trying to kill her with the old charcoal model.) What
sorts of things should I be looking for/taking into consideration? And
how much should I expect to pay for a "basic" model? (I saw Sears
advertising one for $109.)

Thanx. I'll have a librarian I know ("mom") look it up for me.

Has anyone tried those indoor electric grills?
If so, how well do they work at simulating the grill flavor?

There was an article in A^2 News about an electric grille. It sounded very
desirable. We have been looking for one. The model rated was, I believe,
a "Thermos" brand for about $350. We found the same model available on
"Shoppers Advantage" within Compuserve for a considerable discount, but we
have not bought it yet.

I just checked CompuServe for the Electric "Thermos" brand grille. They sell
it for $229. (By the way, the prices on CompuServe's "shoppers Advantage"
appear to be as good as anything I have seen. - I just bought a Timex Indiglo
Ironman watch for $25. Service Merchandise lists it for $32.99)

We have friends with one. They are quite happy with it. I don't know
which brand they have though. I can understand why someone might choose
the name "Thermos" though. While cooking the outside skins remain cool
enough to not burn you when touched. Yep, I tried it.
