New restaurant by the Red Hawk people. Mark Unseen   Nov 18 02:29 UTC 1995

I had a tour of the new restaurant to be opened by the people who own the
Redhawk Bar and Grille today. This is a complete remodelling of the old Marti
Walker shop and it looks really nice. It is huge! The balcony alone is
bigger than most restaurants. In addition, it will have an outside section
on the North side.
(It does not have a name yet.)
It looks first class!

The cuisine is supposed to be of mixed Pacific Rim with some
Asian and Spanish dishes. Names being suggested are The Blue
Parrot, The Meridian, and a few others I can't recall.

I'm looking forward to having another State Street restaurant
by the Red Hawk folks.

Their soups are great and they have a veggie sandwhich I love. Sometimes the
salads are terrific and sometimes wilted. But I like the Red Hawk and will
try the new restaurant.

Nancy is now the bookkeeper at the Red Hawk, so I expect I will be a regular
there. Maybe like Norm on Cheers!

Maybe we can have a Red Hawk get together some night and share favorite Red
Hawk dishes (and drinks).

Sounds like a winner! Last time I was there I had a blackened catfish
sandwich and it was SUPERB. I also tried a specialty beer, but like other
specialty beers, it tasted perfumey to me.

Red Hawk get-together sounds yummy to me. It's one of our regular
feeding places.

Re #6 - Valerie - The Produce Station has fresh artichokes at all times
(I am told by reliable sources!)

Update: The new restaurant will be named the Zanzibar and it is scheduled
to open January 29th. The menu will be unique.

I had a walk through the Zanzibar yesterday - all the materials and work look
first class (From the Pella windows to the steel structure).

I then ate at the Red Hawk and had the Fajitas - Fantastic!

If you like to eat, then the proposed new Zanzibar menu will drive you wild.

I'm probably interested, but would want to decide closer to the time.
