Need advice on car repair/shops Mark Unseen   Apr 5 15:07 UTC 1995

I need to get my brakes looked at, and maybe the AC as well. Can anyone
suggest a REPUTABLE car place that won't break my piggy bank? I've got a
Dodge Omni. I live in AA. Thanks for any suggestions!

The Firestone shop on Orchard Lake Road just south
of Maple (15 Mile) is very good, if your car will
make it that far.

I got some great work done fairly cheaply by RPM motors out on Jackson.
Good high quality work, at least by the looks of it. I originally had
to go there for a new head gasket, since none of the little "Ann Arbor
new-age car places" would do anything that serious, and one recommended
RPM.
It is not a pretty place with dealer amenities, and I don't know about
A/C, but it might be worth a try.

I've always had good results with Jourdan's Marathon on Broadway.
Solid work, good prices, and done on time.

I just had some work done at Ann Arbor Muffler and it was the most
professional car repair work I have ever had. They'll have my business.

I have all my car work - *except* mufflers and tires - done at Ann
Arbor Subaru. I also consider them verys professional and helpful. Of
course, I have a Subaru.

Ditto, except a summer check-up & electrical work for my old Mazda.

Ron's Garage did OK for me, but then I'm the kind of guy who knows his car
inside out and repair places generally don't try to pull the wool over my
eyes.

Monamoor has a place in Chelsea, a guy who works on foreign cars, she swears
by. We have used him twice and his honesty is well worth the time and effort
to get the car to Chelsea. If you're in terested, e-mail and ask her the
name.

Ashley Auto (on Ashley, just where it becomes one-way) has been doing work
on our car(s) for about 10 years. Very good and honest work, on everything
from oil changes to engine changes.
