Hello rcurl!, thank you very much: my research is beginning.
Who is the AMWAY ? In Italy the method to sell home by home is just started and
at the beginning. Here (at BOLOGNA) some of us are contacted from vendors
of the AMWAY society to enter in their group, with the job to sell the
products
products and make new memers.
Because here there are a lot of company , more or less serius (onesty) and
is difficult for us make a choise .
It is a affidable company ? Heve you hear anything ?
Ciao,
Massimo

I entered an article about "multilevel marketing" in the original location
of this topic. Look very carefully at the form the business is being
offered where you are. If the object is to sell products, and they have a
liberal return policy for unsold merchandise, and everything else looks
up-and-up, it would seem to be legitimate. There are, however, various
less legitimate forms of this kind of business, in particular the
"pyramid schemes" where the profit is claimed to lie in selling
*dealerships* rather than merchandise. The Amway company in America I
recall has had some high-level corporate problems (and illegalities), but
I haven't found information yet on the current reputation of the company.
I will say, I have *never* seen an Amway salesperson, much less bought
something from one.

The thing that scared me about Amway was that many of the people
involved in that business are sucked into it like it's some kind of
cult. I guess it's the motivational meetings...too religious-like
for my taste. One thing to watch out for is the type of relationship
you have with your distributor chain--they may make requirements that
are unreasonable for you (such as large minimum order quantities).
This isn't illegal, as far as I know, but it can make the business
untenable for someone just starting out.
The products themselves are of good quality from what I've seen
(generally, but not always, just like any other multi-product company
such as Proctor & Gamble). One of Amway's selling points is the
economy of using their cleaning products. Of course, they'd like you
to buy in bulk...
As rcurl says "let *both* buyer and seller beware."

Maxmax, are you asking how to use e-mail here on Grex? If so: there
are several ways. A simple one is to enter help mail and you
will get instructions for the mail program. Another is to enter
pine , and you will get the "pine" mailer, which has menus. I'd like
to hear how your meeting with AMWAY went...angry, you say? I haven't been
able to find additional local information. AMWAY has not been in the news
here, lately.

Yes, angry at who, maxmax? And how was your trip to Florence? There was
an article in Sunday's New York Times Newspaper about the restaurants of
Bologna. I have heard that the food is excellent in Emilia Romagno.

You are right ! Bologna is famous for *lasagne*, *tortellini* and
*tagliatelle*, flake pastry (is so?). My fellow-citizen love the good foods and
the Emilia-Romagna is famous for this. Last summer (in July) I was gone in
*Perigord* (France) and there, as here, the foods are divine (foue-gras: pate`
of goose'liver, wine ec..). The beatiful of thin travel was the 4500 Km make in
my motorcycle (BMW R80gs). I love travel in motorcycle, the world is eccitant
on the two wheel. One of my dream is to came there, in U.S. (in auto, too)
accross the help of the Internet comunity. I wish enter in contact with people
that give me a information fot eat, sleep in a tour of the U.S. , all through
the Internet. Synthesis: Make a travel through the contacts taken in Internet
that fix a lot of problem for bed-and breakfast . This is an idea, there is the
time for svilupp that. By P.s. I will tell of AMWAY and my *trip in Firenze (i
was gono in S. Maria Novella,
 good church)

I took a motorcycle tour of Europe, on a Triumph 350, some years ago. Ca.
8000 km. Boy, did I get sick of it..... (partly a joke - I am glad I did
it, but its a once-in-a-lifetime adventure). I crossed the Alps into Italy,
and left from Brindisi on the night-boat to Igoumenitsu, Greece.

As I read, You have traveled a lot of in Europe, Italy enclosed. Your *trip* of
8000 km. is not *little* twice than mime. I use the motorcycle near all the
year (exclude the winter) but for little trips (50, 100 km.) around my town.
The contact with the country, the road under your feets, the wind over your
shoulder is a thing that has no egual with other way. I like however the
bicycle, go around with it for kilometers, slow, so to appreciate all the wiew
you see.

Ok headdoc; this week was been heavvy and i have only at work the
*link* to Internet, not at my home.
*AmWay*
The A. filosophy is founded on:
"Every man, women has some frustation, stress, problem and hope in
  some objective, some goals."
Of rest, our society has much problems: the times of life (work, family
etc.), the stress of work itself, the relationship between the people
and other, I suppose.
In the riunion of A. (Friday) there were almost 200 persons and a lot of
these have talked to us of their expectatives. These are :
   - Freedom
   - Freedom from work-time
   - More satisfaction in their life
   - More and more money (to buy house, car, etc.)
How contradict they ? (More travel I should say)
The way of live of A. is :
" Work for us, fulfit an engagement of sell our products and we can give
   you that you much wish"

There isn't any of illegal in that, or completely false but I was amazed for
the ingenuousness of the people (talking there) that very strong believe in
this goals.

Applauses, sing <<hosanna>> for the A., perhaps a cult, religion in an
electric atmosphere, this was the state of the riunion.

My opinion is that the expectations of the people are all right (and are th
same of mine) but one is to tend to resolve with obiectivity and commons sense
(perhaps with psycological help in heavvy questions), other is take the
*tangent* and runaway in a piloted exaltation (for selling, too !!).

That I have seen and breathe deeply is this atmosphere is also contagious
and is easy to be brought in this circle.
In fact, once one is entered in A. the contact between he and the A.
is very intensive (I think for a submission or inculcation process).
Not at all , their stategy tend to coinvolge the entire family to
avoid that a member can dissuade other to join their goals.

One can say :, well, all activity is support to a economical-ragions,
but where is here the profict?"

Well, I can say you that this intoduction is essential in give a very incentive
to propage the adesion-strategy of this company.
Now I am studynd their market-strategy for get where and how they have
proficts. !!? Sorry, but my Company call me! I will write soon of this. Ciao a
tutti, buon weekend.

You seem to be capturing the essence of Amway, maxmax. Very hyper-
capitalist, with a cult-like presentation. It's not for everyone, but
some people really take that tangent you mention and become wealthy.
Others get caught up in the cultishness and never get any farther.
