So you think YOU love comics? Mark Unseen   Aug 29 14:28 UTC 1997

So you think YOU are a comic book lover? Marvel editor Mark Gruenwald ,
who died of a heart attack recently, has you beat.

His will requested that he be cremated and that his ashes be mixed in with
the ink in a special run of his favorite comic book "Squadron Supreme"

Gruenwald created Squadron Supreme and his wish was to actuallybe a part
of the pages.

So when plans were made to re-issue Suadron Supreme's 12 issues as a
special one-issue, his wife took Gruenwald's ashes to a printing plant in
Ohio, and had his remains mixed with th ink used to print the comic book.

The first printing of the "Squadron" reissue has a run of 4,000 copies and
Gruenwald REALLY is part of each copy!

I've got Mark Gruenwald beat! He had his ashes mixed with ink... which means
it was most likely 98.5% ink and 1.5% him (I'm making up the persentages, but
you know what I mean...). I on the other hande use 100% of my own blood to
draw my comics. I don't get that far before I pass out. A good 8 pages a week
is safe.

I don't actually have bloody. I've been known to draw with the odd bone
sliver and some of my necroplasmic fluid when I was bored and without pencil.
