It's about time a new Grendel story came out. When Dark Horse tried to
reprint the first 12 issues of the original Comico run, they cancelled it
without warning and hadn't done any Grendel projects since.

Well, Matt Magner was busy revamping Mage and writting Sandman Mystery
Theatre. Now, Matt has left Sandman Mystery Theatre (although he did a general
plot which Steven Seagle is working from) and now has more time to work on
Grendal...

Cool Dark Horse stuff out in July...
Groo creator Sergio Aragones creates a all new comedy mini-series, Sergio
Aragones' Loader Then Words. Simular to his cartoons in MAD, but this time
he does it on the whole page.
In Nexus: Nightmare in Blue, a four issue mini-series from Mike Baron and
Stve Rude, you will get to decide which intergalatic villian Nexus should
battle.
Cult hit, Too Much Coffee Man, gets his sold out DHP stories reprinted in
32 page special.
Jay Stphens brings Jetcat, the worlds youngest hero, to life in Land Of
Nod a three issue mini-series. This cute as hell comedy shows why Jays was
nominated for Harvey Award for humor.

*Rumors of a Predator/Judge Dredd crossover are true. Brain Bolland is the
artist.
*Dark Horse Presents has it's first annual... Double the size regular comic,
this annual contains a Bog Bags story from Jason Pearson, an Aliens story by
Beau Smith and Gray Marrow, A collaboration between Mike (Madman) Allred and
Jay (Land of Nod) Stephens, a comic strip by Penn and Teller, with other
stories from Mark Vereiden, Chris Marrian, Andrew Pepoy, Renee Frech, John
Arcudi, Scott Musgrove, and Paul Hope. On sale on September 10th.
*Dark Horse Presents #125 will see the return of Dan Brereton's Nocturnals,
the hit book from the now defunct Malibu's Bravura line. Dark Horse Presents
#125 will be in stores in October.
*Matt Wagner's Grendel Tales is back. The Devil's Apprentice is a
"Samuri-vampire-western-coming-of-age kind of thing" written by Jeffery Lang
and drawn by Steve Lieber. On sale September 17th.
* The job of the inker has often been misunderstood. There are lots of book
for aspiring pencilers, but when has the inker ever been put in the light?
Finally there is the book that shows everybody that inkers don't just trace
lines. The Art Of Comic-Book Inking, by 14 of the best inkers today (with
pencils provided by Steve Rude and Gary Martian), has 112 of lessons that will
not only help new inkers, but will also help new pencilers to be more
inker-friendly. The Art Of Comic-Book Inking hits stores September 10th.

(The Sergio Aragones' series [_Louder Than Words_] was OK, if you're a
fan of his work from Mad Magazine. it won't have the same appeal if you
preferred his work on _Groo_, although Dark Horse *will* publish a new
_Groo_ series soon. once upon a time, there was a joke regarding former
publishers of Groo and how they all managed to go under, yet Groo kept
ticking [First Comics and Marvel's Epic imprint; there's another that
escapes me]. with the move to Image, it was _Groo_ that went under, only
lasting twelve [brilliant] issues before Evanier and Aragones decided to
retire him. it will be interesting to see what's in store for the
cheese-dip loving barbarian's return.)
