Ok. Spawn is simply the MAC 10!! He's by far the best comic created, and
what a better man to create him than Todd MacFarlene. If you have any
complaints with that than you just better write 'em down!!!

Spawn is absolutely the only comic I still consider worth reading, and the
one thing that I might get back into in comics. Spawn is superb in
storytelling, artistry, and anything else you can come up with. I think that
there are no flaws with this book. Is anyone else looking forward to the
movie?

WOW! Such enthusasum for Spawn! There are cool pictures of the Spawn moive
(pre-Industrial Lights and Magic) on the Web site (http://www.spawn.com)
and they are even doing two cool toy lines on the movie. There is a 12 inch
Vilolator figure with light up eyes and a sound chip. The moive ought to be
cool, but they are changing the story just a wee bit. The same goes for the
cartoon on HBO. The cartoon will be rated R and the movie is PG13.

They have to.. chapel isn't image anymore (thank god) so they have to change
the murderer, among other things. Movies and TV series always change plots,
it's almsot a requirement. I wish cable came to my house.. I really, really
want to see the show. Why is the movie only 13? I'd think it would be dark
and sdisturbing enough for an $.R.

Okay, the movie is only PG 13 so a wider range of people can see it (since
it is the origin story). Todd doesn't want to limit his aduance. But for the
cartoon anythings since it's on HBO... Plus they are making other changes like
Billy Kinkade (sp?) is now a senaters son... Why do they have to change it?
The Maxx (the coolest Comic Animation in the US) was almost word for word to
the comic (with minor changes where Sam thought he could fix mistakes).
I've seen the Spawn movie poster, it's a picture of Spawn's head in masks
with the lighting barely showing anything. They didn't use the circle logo
like I thought they were going to... Todd said that he wanted to logo to be
like the Batman logo and that everybody will know what it means without having
to tell what it is. (I'll get the direct quote later since I just hacked it
up)

Makes sense. I don't know why they have to change it.. maybe because rthtey've
all done it before and they want something fresh. The origin story implies
sequels, and I'm looking forward to that :) I like the old logo.. what's the
new one like? I'll be interested to see what they do with the cians and some
of the finer McFarlane details that etend not to translate well into real life

I would like to say that in all the previews of the movie Spawn is not wearing
a cape... you know why? Because the preview footage is pre Industrial Lights
and Magic who will computer animate the cape that will reflect the mood in
the different scenes... The Violator monster will also be enhanced simular
to the dinosaurs in Jarassic Park.
I meet the real Al Simmons at the Motor City Comic Con this Friday. Nice
guy and he is having a blast at the cons. How come he was more popular then
Alex Ross?

Beats me, I'm not in to comics much , remember? :) Yeah, the digital cape
is the only way you can really reflect the way Toodd draws it. Sides, the
movie is scheduled for the fall or late summer, I think. it's a ways off.

Oh.... I didn't know it was going to be with real peoples. I thought it
was going to be animated. Seems weird that they'd have the cartoon, with
colored drawings, be R. And a movie, with actual people, be PG-13. Oh
well. Doesn't matter. No matter what they do, Spawn's the best comic.

I wouldn't doubt Spawn is one of the best written comics, but it's just too
depressing for me. The fall of a superhero-- no one even believes in a truly
good superhero anymore. I just lost interest. It's the content, really, not
how it's done. I agree with Dave on just about everything-- I just don't like
the idea. I had been interested at the start until I saw he was going to
hell, literally.

btw, Al Simmons is from Richland, WA-- just a cita mere 30 minutes away from
Kennewick from where I live. City, that is. I've never met him, but I've
seen the trailer hitch with all the cool art on it.

it seems like ever since Dark Knight Returns every comic is the dark
depressing chacter. Now every hero is dark, but not exactly written well...

Movie's going to rock, I just thought I'd reiterate. Assuming they dont'
totally screw it up, that is. I think Toodd will ahve somethint g to do with
that.

The movie is definatley going to rock. The reason why Todd himself
hasn't been working on those weird mini-series of Spawn is because he's
been busy working on the movie. And you know that if he's put that much
effort into it, it's going to rock. Does anyone know exactley what areas
they're going to cover in the movie? Are they going to cover up to what
he's like now, all old and hiding in the alleys with bums. Oh yeah, I
just got Spawn #58!!! It's cool. It's the only one I've been able to get
my hands on. I can't find Spawn #1,2,3,4.etc. The earliest one I've
found was #50. Oh well, one of these days.

Spawn seems like one of those comics that tends to be pretty difficult to
understand if you know a lot of the history, since each comic just builds up
on the story with every issue.

The movie will deal iwith the origin. Al, the spawn trade paperback contains
issues 1-5 (which I have) and is a very good thing to have.
Actually, I have issues 1-12 with the exception of six, which I never got
around to picking up.
