I have recently heard that they are going to make a Fantastic Four 2099 and
*maybe* a Venom 2099. Venom's appearence in Spiderman (the number slips my
mind at the minute) was awesome! Also I think Hulk was kewl but they had
to cancel him. My least favorite of the 2099 series is probably Doom.

excuses! excuses!
I do miss the promise of the 2099 books, and I would have liked to have
seen what Joey Cavlieri would have done with it without the suits
interfering. It just wasn't the same after all those non-JC titles
were added. I didn't bother to wait around to see him laid off; I'm
surprised he didn't quit earlier. Thankfully, he's back at DC again.

I have now bought and read the last issues of spider-man and X-Men 2099.. kind
of a sad thing for me after reading them since issue #1 I think they killed
off too many characters in each but i suppose it was necessary if they're
going to be one monthly title... *sigh* why are my favorite comics always
canceled before 50?

The Earth is flooded by the melted polar ice caps.. the only high ground is
the savage land.. humans and mutants must learn to coexist there.. there is
also a colony of people on Mars..

I think he was thinking that since there was a phanton cartoon on tv that was
called Phantom 2099, Ben seems to think it has to do with the 2099 comics at
Marvel...

mainly a Marvel thing?

you could say that.. they started it. Let's see there was Spider-Man 2099,
Doom 2099, Ravage 2099, Punisher 2099, 2099 Unlimited, X-Men 2099, Hulk 2099,
Fantastic Four 2099, Ghost Rider 2099, X-Nation 2099, and a couple of 1-shots.
Now there is only one 2099 book released monthly.. 2099: The World of
Tomorrow. Heh. i'm sure you all wanted to know that. :P

I did. But have have a complant about 2099. I dont know about the one-shots,
but othr than Ravage, all the characters are remakes of present Marvel
characters. I mean even the vilians are remakes. If you were to@do a future
story, pease make original charaters.

not ALL the characters and villains are/were remakes. there WAS a large number
of them that were, but there was probably a nearly equal number that weren't
the X-Men 2099 all had original powers and stuff, but they had the same name.
of course, Doom 2099 wasn't even a remake.. he was THE Dr.Doom..
Vulture 2099 wasn't much like the original Vulture.. Hulk 2099 was
disappointing.. Ghost Rider 2099 wasn't much like the present day Ghost Rider
since the future version was technology and todays is Hellfire
I personally liked The Public Enemy- this guy hated how the public just stood
and watched as crimes were commited so after he disposed of the bad guys he
would start yelling things like "Ignorant sheep!!!" and start gunning down
the crowds.. i found this hilarious.. umm.. i probably shouldn't have :P
i'll continue my 2099 ramblings later if anyone wants to hear 'em

I wasn't saying the actua characters were same (even though Doom was) I@was
saying the concepts were. Sure X-Men 2099 was new characters, but it was still
a X-Men book (I be it a future one). I doN't care if Vulture 209 was like the
original o^e, it's stil@the same concept. I didn't read all the books, but
you can understand my view point. And res, I want to har more "ramblings".
