Digital camera wanted - 1-2 megapixel with serial cable
|
Aug 5 19:31 UTC 2004 |
We are looking for an upgrade to our .35 megapixel Epson PhotoPC that will
work with a serial cable and photopc software, which means Olympus 300 series
or possibly 400 series but we dont' need a zoom lens.
Do any grexers want to sell one cheap? On eBay they have gone for as low as
$20 plus shipping for working models with memory card and cable(s) and
software and manual. We could pay $25 without the shipping to someone local.
Or trade you a home or appliance repair (electrical, plumbing, mechanical,
bike, possibly car, computer, stereo, appliance).

Ok, now 2 years later
I have 2 cameras that I do not use anymore because they have a few problems
but they can be fixed. I offer them in trade for fixing my dumb little car.
One is a Fuji finepix, and the other is an Olympus. Both are nice.
The fuji has a bad lcd screen. All you need to do is get a new one and you're
in business.
The Olympus had something spilled on it, and thus it doesnt work, but if
you take it apart and clean it up, it could suprise you and work.
Now for my car. It needs brake lines fore and aft. Also needs wheel
cylinders which I have. All I need is someone with talent to come here to
Toledo and fix this thing so I can drive again. Sindi, I will pay for a round
trip ticket for Jim if he is willing to come here and fix the car. We can work
out the details later on. I am not interested in paying a shop 400 dollars
to fix a car with a very simple problem.
I have 2 Sony Cybershots. I found one, and the other one I bought. I'm
happy with them.

Sorry, we don't have time to go work on your car, too much to do here.
Jim has a big collection of digital cameras and also fixes them for
Kiwanis rummage sale. And we also are not interested in supporting
cars. Jim likes fixing bikes. Do you still use yours?

I do. I just need the motivation, and to eat before I go out. It inspired
a blog on myspace.
No problem, Sindi. It was a longshot. I can probably find someone down here
to do the job for me. I happen to need a car for my job. Remember I do drive
a taxi, and thats green.
You will be proud to know that I have ceased using paper for groceries. I
have several green bags which I use exclusivly, and I recycle. I may not have
a carbon footprint as small as yours, but I am aware of mine and I'm trying
to reduce it where possible.

because the taxi is a business vehicle. it's for running fares, not my fat
ass across Toledo.

Run your fat ass across Toledo on a bike and it will become thinner.
Can you put your bike on a bus for longer distances?

But I live in place called Oregon. No busses. Meijer is only a mile, but
a long mile on a bike with groceries.

Are the miles there longer than the miles here? Ours only take about 10
minutes even with several waits to cross the street. Do you have a bike
basket or panniers? By what percentage does your total load go up due to
groceries? If you have a 30 lb bike and weight 320 lb, 35 lb of groceries
would increase it by 10%. I have biked 30 miles in the rain with 50 lb load,
a 35% increase. Don't buy soda - it will save weight and lose you weight.

Are there steep hills in the Toledo area?

nothing like Ann Arbor, but there are some mild hills. I guess the steepest
incline would be the approaches to the Anthony Wayne Bridge aka the high
level.
I work 70-90 hours a week. Sometimes it's just easier to pick groceries
up on the way home.

How do you get home from 'work'? Do you bike to the taxi, or can you leave
the taxi near where you live? Would your boss mind if you stopped at the
store?

he picks me up in the afternoon, and i usually pick him up in the morning.
On weekends, when he doesn't drive I keep the cab. I only stop at the store
on weekends and no, he doesnt mind.
I used to drive my car.

So what do you want a car for? You don't need it to go to work or to shop
and you have one for use on weekends if you need to some place out of town.

in a while. I use my car for that.

I am certain there is a bus between Toledo and Cleveland. Probably even a
train but it goes in the middle of the night if so. About 90 miles? Some
people could bike that in a day but probably not round trip.
