Oscar isn't important not even fundamental to the movies. It's just a hollywoodian private party which doesn't represent the world movies. The criteria for the winners' choice don't represent an impartial judgement. "Oscar is a hypocritical show", Woody Allen & Marlon Brando said. Do you have something to comment about that?

The movies was invented by French.
In this conference people mention movie produced in US. There
are great movie mentioned here, however North American movies
isn't the best and Oscar doesn't mean anything for the world
cinematography.
I watched hundreds & hundreds non North American movies.
Here's a list of some which I recommend (many movies weren't
included because this list would be too long):
Jean-Luc Godart (France): Detective, Je vous salue, Marie,
Passion, Le petit soldat.
Alan Parker (Ireland, UK): The commitments, Angel Heart.
Mike van Diem (Netherlands): Karakter.
Frederico Fellini (Italy): almost all movies.
Roberto Rosselini (Italy): Roma, citta aperta.
Pedro Almodovar (Spain): The bullfighter, Kika, Live flesh,
Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown,
Tie me up! Tie me down, The flower of my secret,
All about my mother.
Neil Jordan (Ireland): The butcher guy, The crying game, Mona Lisa.
Michelangelo Antonioni: Profession: reporter, Zabriskie point,
Blow up.
Abbas Kiarostami (Iran): Under the olive trees.
Anh Hung Tran (Vietnam): The scent of green papaya.
Lasse Hallstrom (Sweden): My life as a dog, Chocolat.
Krzysztof Kieslowski (Poland): Three colors trilogy.
Soon I'll add other films.

i like jim sheridan. i watched 'my left food' and 'in the name of the father' terrifics movies. i liked a lot.

Why this conf don't people comment?
It isn't difficult to understand the reason that.
I mean, if you think Oscar has credibility then this
item doesn't have interest for you.
Or people don't know how to defend their point of view.

When Marlon Brando refused Oscar, he said:
"I'm the only one who had the courage to turn the
thing down.That's class! That's principle!
That's unique!"

French movies are boring. Brando didn't turn down the Oscar, he exploited it for the Native American chest thumping hobby he courted.
