Casting Calls for the Star Wars Prequels Mark Unseen   Jun 10 22:27 UTC 1997

Continuing the tradition of spreading Star Wars news like wild fire I will
pass on what I have learned recently. In my Entertainment Weekly magazine that
I received yesterday they had an article on the Prequels. Even though no
contract have been signed yet there are names that have been given to go to
certain roles.
Liam Neeson - A Jedi master who mentors his fellow knights
Natalie Portman - The "sensuous"future mother of Luke and Leia
Ewan McGregor - The young Ben Kenobi
Jake Llyod - Darth Vader-to-be, 8 year old Anakin Skywalker
        Samuel L. Jackson - A cameo part

Of course there are other rumors but these seem to be the most reliable, I
have seen them in two differnt places and one was from Star Wars E-mail
newsletter, so that is pretty reliable.

One of the other rumors is that Sir Alec Guiness will narrate part 3.

Don't ask me; I'm still pouting because Grace jones wasn't cast as Catwoman.

Has anyone seen any of the scenes from the prequels that have been floating
around? I haven't but I have heard that some are out there.

Well, my aunt in london worked retail in a men's clothing shop last year
or so. Anyways, one of her customers was part of the prequel shooting,
and was in London before returning to shooting in Tunisia. From what he
could say without violating the non-disclosure agreement, he had a very
strong training in martial arts (and from what she said, he showed it).
Long story short: The prequels will most likely have a martial artist.

I read in the Detroit Freepress that Steven Spielberg has seen some of
the footage from the new movie and said that he was blown away.

So, what's the latest?
You have to both love and pity people who have been paying full price for
movie tickets just so they can see the prequel previews, then leaving.

I saw the new trailer on CNN at 5:00pm EST today. They will be showing it
again at 10:00pm EST tonight so if you get a chance check it out. Then you
won't have to pay full price to see the preview in a theatre, even though that
is the best way to view it;)

I know this is really late responce to this, but sam jackson's part was a bit
more than a cameo. He was a member of the high jedi council for christ's sake.
a pretty prestigeos part if I may say so.
