Hrm. Well, I can say that I wouldn't want to see two butch women going
at it. It wouldn't be painful or anything, just uninteresting.

Aren't women the market that slash fiction is written for? Is our
resident Star Trek expert around to comment?

From the memory of a definite NON-expert:
slash fiction - sub-sub-genre of Star Trek fan fiction; stories are built
very tightly around a (homosexual) relationship between Kirk and Spock;
the market for slash fiction is almost entirely middle-aged women; the
term comes from the notation "Kirk/Spock".
I'm unaware of any expert on grex besides chanur. Last i recall she was
working on a Ph.D. in Star Trek literature.

I don't think it's just Star Trek, though it probably originated there. I've
heard of people doing Starsky and Hutch slash fiction.
(No, I'm not an expert either. In fact, I've never read any. In further
fact, I think I've been permanently damaged psychologically by even having
heard the phrase "Starsky and Hutch slash fiction.")

Wesley Crusher slash fiction is also popular.
If I were going to write ST slash fiction, it would probably involve an
alternate script to Charlie X where Charlie manages to get it on with Yeoman
Rand, who manages to get it on with Kirk, who manages to get it on with Uhura,
who manages to get it on with Spock.

wild.
to coax me into fondling some other guy's genitals, you'd have to be wealthy,
successful and decadent, willing to offer me a place to stay and meals to eat,
and be a very beautiful, drug-addicted woman.

Yeah. Let's hear it for hotties.
No, that doesn't mean that I want to see attractive men getting it on
- send those tapes over to oval and mynxcat - but at least if they're getting
it on with each other, they're not occupying the same niche.

People who obsess about romantic relationships (real or potential) in
TV series really need to get a life.
