Seen any really wierd cars lately? Mark Unseen   Mar 18 14:24 UTC 1995

Seen any really wierd cars lately? I saw a German Amphi car stored in
a field north of Ann Arbor. I used to see a 2 seat sportser called a
Borgward Isabella from time to time also. I snapped a picture of an
Elva Courier also. Within the past few years, in Ann Arbor, I also
saw a Crosley and a 3-wheeled German car, I believe it was a
Messerschmit or some similar (Aircraft) name.
Anyone ever see these rarities?

I saw a really weird car out the window driving south on US-23, on the
west side of the expressway, somewhere just before or after I-96. It
was white, and looked like it might be a 40's or 50's sports car of some
sort. I don't know what it was though - it's kind of hard to find the
name on a car off the expressway while zipping by at 70 mph!

Agree - tough to identify on x-way. Last Saturday afternoon, I saw a
black Morris with a tan hard roof (non convertible) approx 1958, in Ann Arbor.

Just this last weekend, while driving east on washtenaw in Ypsi, I spotted
a 60's style VW pickup truck! Yep, like the original VW van, except the
back portion was like a pickup truck. They were, and remain, rather
unique since all three sides of the bed could be folded down, turning
it into a flat-bed. (I've ridden in the back of one several times as a
kid :-)

It is rare that a car catches my eye, however, last night I saw a Cobra
that a friend had built from bits scrounged from all over. Beautiful car!
Incredible sound from its 600 HP, 427 cid engine. I'm glad I don't own
one (It has been through 4 engines in 3,000 miles) but it was certainly
a nice looking car.

4 engines in 3K miles? Is that from how it's being driven? Or bad
engine design? or ???

I'm not sure. I think a few of them just didn't preform as well as
expected. It is used in competition. 1.4 HP / cubic inch is also pushing
an engine pretty hard.
