Susan Vreeland. There is no Vermeer painting "Girl in Hyacinth Blue", but the story assumes such a painting and traces its history through generations. | ||

I would think that Vreeland would base her novel on a fictitious Vermeer so she would not be limited by facts about any real Vermeer. (Vermeer is my favorite artist.) | ||
