The T2 Item
|
Aug 4 12:54 UTC 1994 |
This is the item to discuss Terminator 2.
We like it. We bought the tape and allow our children
to watch it, but not T1 which was too nightmarish.
Explaining the thermonuclear holocaust scene to them,
however, was very hard for me. I think Edward Furlong (?)
was miscast as the kid, but the rest of the actors were
excellent. "B-b-b-b-bad to the Bone" has become a favorite
song for the kids. There are a few ironic references to
T1, such as Schwartzenegger saying to a terrified Linda
Hamilton, "Come with me if you want to live" - the exact
words Michael Biehn said to her in T1 when Schwartzenegger
was the implacable, unkillable, monster, instead of the
implacable, unkillable, buddy.
We taped a "making of T2" program from one of the cable
channels. Among other interesting facts, it reveals that
in one scene where Linda Hamilton in repairing the
Terminator's head, the woman in the mirror is actually
her twin sister.

That's certainly consistent. Movies nowadays are pretty much
all smoke and mirrors anyway.

T2 is one of my favorite "entertainment" movies. I especially
liked the special effects.

I would have to say that T2 is one of my favorite movies of all time. Has
anyone had a chance to see the Director's Cut of it? It has over a half an
hour of unseen footage that was cut from the theatrical release, including a
dream sequence with Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn. Plus, there are a few
more effects involving the T-1000. My friend and I joined a T2 fan club
around the time the film was released, and he has just about every line md.
Has anyone heard anything about a possible T3?

Thanks for the info on the director's cut -- I'll have a look at it
sometime. Has it had theatrical showings, or is it strictly a video
offering?

It has only been released on laserdisc and on home video. It is definetely
worth the money my friend paid. Not only does it have extra footage, but
it also has another video that comes with it. The extra tape has trailers,
behind the scenes footage, plus interviews. My friend and I are goin-ch it
tonight.

Did you know that Edward Furlong, the kid in the movie, is having an affair
with the 30 year old woman who was his stand-in during the film? Maybe this
belongs in the sex conference or something but it is a tad bizzarre.

Wasn't she the one who rode his motorcycle during the heavy stunt
scenes? If so, that's not all she's riding nowadays.

Near the end when the T1000 is impersonating Linda Hamiltons character,
and she shows up behind it, they used her twin sister for the shots with
both of them in the same scene.
(now that I re-read that it dosen't sound coherent, did it make sense?)

Yup, they sure did. Here's another little tidbit: In the scene right after
Arnold leaves Sarah and John Conner in the elevator(and says, "I'll Be Back,")
when he's fired upon by all of those cops with those guns that shoot the gas
cannisters, they used an animatronic Arnold, kind of a robot, and they used
real bullets and cannisters for effect. (Boy, talk about being incoherent!)
