Unusual and out-of-print games. Mark Unseen   Apr 23 22:52 UTC 2002

I've entered this item for information and feedback on games that are
difficult to find or out of print-- more specifically, games that were
real gems, but weren't popular and faded into obscurity.

I understand Talisman is one such game, and existing copies for sale
go for exorbitant prices, apparently, since it is out of print. I've
never played it, but it's been explained to me as very simple, and
very hack 'n slash.

C.H.E.A.P. is another game I've never seen emerge from the
underground. I don't remember what the acronym stands for, but the
name pretty much says it all-- it was designed to sell under $10 or
so, with very basic materials. It's somewhat like GURPS in the sense
that you can create any kind of character you want-- mine was a
Melmacian (ALF, remember)? who had been done up a la Inspector Gadget.

TimeMaster is one old game some friends of mine introduced me to,
although I never played. The premise is.. playing time cops.

Anyway, continue as you will =)

I played Talisman quite frequently as a member of WinonaRPSIG (a
roleplaying group in Winona, MN. The acronym is R.ole P.laying
S.pecial I.nterest G.roup). Now that I'm back in my home state of
Michigan, I don't see it that often.

TimeMaster? Are you sure you don't mean TimeLords? The Time Cop idea
was the focus of TimeLords' Secondary Game.
