Wish they'd separated the swimming pool funding from what I'd differentiate
as the "educational" funding. Doubt the pools would have passed on their
own. What was it, $12 million for two pools, not counting future energy,
maintenance, and liability expenses?

I totally agree. I think the Board thought there would be no
way the parents would not vote to get the schools in better
physical shape so lets slip in the pools while we're at it.
Wrong. I've voting against the bond. Bring it back when you've
cut the fat out of the proposal.

I haven't decided how I'm going to vote on it yet. I really want to vote for
the new computers, and it sounds like some of the maintenance is really
needed, but I can't support new swimming pools at a time when the school
district says they don't have the money for more alternative schools.

Even the computers should be put on hold until the middle schools
again get their cut hour of class time back and the high schools
get at least one additional alternative program.
Priorities are really skewed.
