...So there. :P Mark Unseen   Apr 5 03:45 UTC 1998

M&M's claim to be the official candy of the new millenium, right?

On the grounds that MM is the roman numeral for 2000, right?

But isn't 2000 really part of _this_ millenium, which, as all good anal
retentive chocoholic insomniacs know, ends in 2001?

So shouldn't they be called "The official candy of the old millenium"?

(Can anyone figure out a way to phrase "So there" as a question?)

Its hard to rephrase two words. How about "So there?"

You see, MM is trying to prostitute itself, and since this is a culture that
exemplifies youth and modern up to the minute slickshit, therefore calling
it of the *old* millenium would be seen as a self depricating statement, and
heavens above, it would be out of date in a matter of a few years. Yet, if
one says the *new* melenium, you have quite a few years for it to run out of
steam, and it's always possible to say, "ha ha, I said this back when, and
I was right.", wich is popular (and probably will ever be so) in advertising.
If however, you were advertising with the consept of wabi (age seen as
beauty) plus the mortal temporary get-it-before-it-goes philosophy, you could
safely say that "candy of the old generation: our days are numbered!"

Gee, I just thought it was because most people would be too ignorant to see
the differance. Or possibly to apathic. Of course, I enjoy genetic testing.
