American Accordion Association
|
Jul 12 21:02 UTC 1997 |
The American Accordion Association held its annual convention in
Washington, D.C., this past week. The grand finale? The hundreds of
conventioneers gathered on the Capitol porch and played patriotic songs.
Congress was invited, but none of the politicians showed. Washington
mayor Marion Barry did declare July 7-11 "Accordion Week" in the
nation's capital, though.

The above was posted only to confuse newbies who think that this conference
has something to do with squeezeboxes.

was not. Was posted to remind us that we have yet to organize the accordion
field trip to listen to real accordions talk and watch them play in their
native habitat.

We do not discriminate by any standard. We'd even call a piano an accordion.
(This is official)
But seriously, if it's concertinas, it's still within accordion
realmafication. Hey, I nearly bought a concertina...In Elicottsville, NY.
$55 dollars, broken. It's even hexagonal. Cool, huh?\
Psssst! Movies even qualify for accordion verification. I was thinking about
having Peter Greenways new film: Pillow Book to be an official Accordion Expo.
Anybody interested? I think the opening is July 25.... Time to save!

starved to death.

a set of bagpipes.

Why not fretless bazoukis and elecric basses? Or fretless electricity and
bass bazoukis?
Would you like vespers with that?

I believe they are packaged in singles or packs of ten. A ten pack is
cheaper, though.

Which is, in turn, fed to the bullfrog.
Which is assembled out of parts bought in a ten-pack.
And so, the great cycle of life continues.
