Cures for summer? Media wanted, demanded, and asked for!

After writing the last item, I was struck with a wave embarasment which led
to the conclusion that my brain is rusting over the lanugid and unocupied
hours of summer. So, if there are people out there who have great books,
tapes, media, which is not Hollywood on a stick, Jello for the brain,
or even remotely resembling a Battletwinkie...the fontly would be
vert as well as very interested. Please keep in mind that my only
current access to the internet is through marcus's work and Grex the
Almighty...er I mean going to the source which means physicaly visiting
the pumpkin room. And if you have a great cure for lethargy, I'm dying
to know. (I *don't* believe that evil rumor about no cure for the summer-
time blues...no matter what you say! I just don't have the money to partake
in it!) Your responses are greatly anticipated.

have you ever read tom robbins' _skinny legs and all_? fairly
fast-paced, but prompts one to think while reading it. it's one of
my all-time favorites.

<scribble scribble> well, that's an afternoon's worth of reading....:-)
Just keep in mind I finished _Crime and Punishment_ in 3 hours.
(sad, but true) But then again, that was High School.....

Hm, what's your reading rate in WPM?
I recommend Herman Melville's _Pierre_.

Doystevski is *not* summmer time reading dhhhhaaaaalllllliiiingggg <raven
scowls> then procedes to tell the story about the time he was reading
C & P during his drivers Ed course (it had a picture of a bloody ax on the
cover) and nearly managed to scare his fellow driving students off the road.
Ok so it was during the summer, so I'm a hypocrit, so sue me, I'm older and
wiser now.
