Deleriously DaDa web site
|
May 28 15:47 UTC 1997 |
For your entertainment pleasure I present the URL of "The Gus's" web site.
This site contains scans of his DaDa paintings of Chickens and other
paintings with ummm environmental themes, hundreds of pages of diary entries
about the rural Virgian punk rock scene and his time at Oberlin College
(where I knew him). Highly entertaining for thos who enjoy tweaked images
and prose, but not for those easily offended.

Yeah don't you know the theory that all the cool people in the U.S. know
each other and they migrate from A2 to Oberlin, to Boston, to Austin,
to Sante Fe to San Francisco, to Arcata to Portland, like a whirling
flock of birds? 1/2 :-)

heh...well, that's not the route my brother took and he's currently
in cleveland, but it seems that an inordinate number of cool people
went to either oberlin or grinnell (where my other brother went).

So do the Ypsi people migrate to A2 hoping to be cool? (I live in Ypsi so
I have experience with this.)

Huh....Ann Arbor *Used* to be a cool place. (Usurped a long time ago by...??)
No, it's gleaning for the stragglers of cool. Really, there are still cool
people here, it's just out of the cool person network (or on the back burner).
Faketopia....Yup...

Ann Arbor still has some cool left in it, but it's hiding from the glut of
cafes, trendy clothing stores, and corporate media outlets like Towers and
Borders.
Re #6: What does Faketopia mean raven?

It means what you have described above that everything is simulated and
corporate. It is thus (fake) while having information about everything
thus a kind of shadow of utopia.

Didn't you know? "Rotting Mushroom" is the latest color, which is blandly
inoffensive, yet trendy and refreshing. Much better than dreary Kacki...
And it will mach your brand new "Spoiled Avocado" couch which is reminicent
of a more Optimistic and Innocent time.
